丹佛金塊在季後賽首輪第4戰不敵明尼蘇達灰狼，系列賽陷入1：3淘汰邊緣。不過比賽結束後，Nikola Jokic又遭遇一件令人錯愕的場外插曲。根據《The Athletic》記者Jason Quick報導指出，Jokic在賽後休息室淋浴時，竟發現自己的內褲遭人竊走。
報導指出Jokic當下顯得相當困惑與不悅，甚至略帶慌張地表示：「有人把我的內褲偷走了。」Quick形容Jokic當時四處張望，神情充滿不解與無奈，表現出一種「你在開玩笑嗎？」的震驚感。
在此之前Jokic已因比賽結果感到沮喪，金塊在系列賽敗給灰狼後，系列賽落後至1：3，晉級形勢岌岌可危。此外比賽尾聲 Jaden McDaniels 在勝負已定情況下上籃得分的舉動，也引發Jokic不滿，雙方甚至爆發肢體衝突，進一步加劇場上火藥味。
