當談到本場比賽失利時，Paolo Banchero於受訪中表示道：

「底特律唯一的調整，就是打得更努力。他們更積極壓迫持球者，更積極干擾、更鎖禁區，我們的決策因此變慢。」
「第三節他們有兩三次禁區封阻，迫使我們失誤，並在轉換中築起防守牆。上半場我們能順利突破，下半場他們的防守布陣更堅實，我們攻不進去。」
早在11月便有報導指出Banchero與Mosley之間存在逐漸擴大的理念落差，如今雙方公開對於敗因給出不同說法，也讓外界質疑是否出現戰術與執行層面的分歧。
魔術例行賽僅剩23場，仍需為季後賽席位奮戰。若問題持續擴大，休賽季管理層勢必面臨抉擇，無論是教練團架構或陣容配置。
