近日記者Chris Haynes作客節目曝光了了更多有關Chris Paul與快艇之間的事件。Chris Paul曾在個人Instagram上發布了單字「Leeway」的牛津字典含義圖(該單字意指在既有框架內被允許的靈活操作餘地，是一種「自由度」或「寬容度」，而非正式授予的權力。)

Haynes於節目上透露表示先前快對陣獨行俠的末節比賽中，Chris Paul在暫停時與Kawhi Leonard進行了溝通，因為後者在防守Klay Thompson時表現掙扎 (Klay Thompson於該場比賽末節攻下17分)。後續Kawhi Leonard聽取了Chris Paul的建議。下一回合由Kawhi Leonard防守Naji Marshall、John Collins換防到Klay Thompson。

然而在隔天快艇助理教Jeff Van Gundy找到了Chris Paul討論了對陣獨行俠的比賽，Jeff Van Gundy認為Chris Paul改變了整體的防守策略，隨後Chris Paul反駁了Jeff Van Gundy的觀點。

結果Jeff Van Gundy在會議上直接告誡Jeff Van Gundy說道：「聽著！在其他地方你或許有權隨意調整防守策略，但在這裡你沒有這種自由。」
