昨日Shams Charania與Anthony Slater一同報導了勇士與Jonathan Kuminga間的最新談判近況，而報導中也曝光了當年勇士老闆在2021年選秀時選擇Kuminga掌握了關鍵決策權，以及當年曾有部分教練團在內人士傾向選擇Franz Wagner一事。

據報導指出當年勇士隊當年部分教練團在內人士曾傾向透過選秀第7順位選擇Franz Wagner，後續雖然所有成員集體同意了選擇Jonathan Kuminga的決定，不過老闆Joe Lacob的最終決策成為了決定性因素，後續魔術隊也以第8順位選擇了Franz Wager。

勇士老闆Joe Lacob對於Kuminga相當看重、也認為Kuminga是勇士隊的長期未來，Lacob也曾表明不願意將Kuminga放入公牛在Alex Caruso先簽後換的交易包裹中。
