根據Shams Charania報導指出，Fred VanVleet已被選為球員工會（NBPA）新任主席，接替CJ McCollum的位置，VanVleet將作為球員工會（NBPA）新任主席開始四年任期。

CJ McCollum的四年任期已滿，他後續將擔任顧問職位。對Fred VanVleet來說這是一個重要的新工會角色，VanVleet是2019年NBA總冠軍，他簽下的多份合約創下了聯盟史上未選秀球員最高薪資紀錄。

Fred VanVleet在今夏與火箭成功達成延長合約，而火箭在今夏也在戰力補強上大破大立，新賽季的火箭可說是備受期待。
