根據ESPN報導指出，Shai Gilgeous-Alexander已同意與冠軍奧克拉荷馬市雷霆隊續簽一份為期4年、價值2.85億美元的超級頂薪合約，該合約將持續到2030-31賽季，而這也是聯盟史上球員最高的年薪。

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander在例行賽場均可攻下聯盟最高的32.7分，總決賽場均可攻下30.3分，他加入了同一賽季奪下MVP和總冠軍賽MVP的行列。

其他獲得上述這項殊榮的球員，包括Michael Jordan（4次）、LeBron James（2次）、Larry Bird（兩次）、Tim Duncan、Shaquille O'Neal、Hakeem Olajuwon、Magic Johnson、Moses Malone、Kareem Abdul-Jabbar和Willis Reed。
