自上月將Max Christie調入先發陣容後，洛杉磯湖人在過去11場比賽中取得了8勝3敗的戰績，並在此期間防守評級排名聯盟第六。

《洛杉磯時報》的Dan Woike報導指出，這使得這位三年級後衛在2月6日交易截止日前被交易的可能性極低。

Woike表示Christie正是湖人應該尋找的類型——具備無球投射能力、運動能力和外線防守的球員。但NBA內部人士普遍認為幾乎每支球隊都在尋找這種球員。

報導還指出，湖人曾多次與Jonas Valanciunas和Walker Kessler等中鋒聯繫在一起，但隨著Dorian Finney-Smith的加盟，這種可能性變得不太可能。

Dorian Finney-Smith是一名擁有外線投射能力且能防守多個位置的前鋒。對於Kessler，其他高層普遍認為爵士無意交易這位23歲的球員。

此外，湖人希望能看到Gabe Vincent和Jarred Vanderbilt康復後回到球隊帶給第二陣容的效果。Vanderbilt預計將於1月康復賽場迎來賽季首秀，而Vincent則正在處理斜肌傷勢。
