根據NBA記者Marc Stein的報導，布魯克林籃網希望以「多個首輪選秀權」作為交易Cameron Johnson的回報。
Stein說：「籃網真能期望為Cameron Johnson換來超過一個首輪選秀權嗎？尤其是剛剛看到Dennis Schröder和Dorian Finney-Smith的交易？」斯坦質疑道。
稍早洛杉磯湖人宣布將D'Angelo Russell和Maxwell Lewis交易至籃網，換取Dorian Finney-Smith和Shake Milton，並額外送出三個未來次輪選秀權。
籃網在12月15日將Dennis Schröder和一個次輪選秀權交易至金州勇士，換來迪De'Anthony Melton、Reece Beekman及三個次輪選秀權。
Cameron Johnson本季場均貢獻19.5分、5.5個籃板和3.1次助攻，展現了不俗的攻防能力。
