根據《The Athletic》記者Shams Charania的報導，前NBA探花Janl Okafor已與印第安納溜馬對隊達成一份訓練營合約。Okafor自2020/21賽季效力底特律活塞隊後，便未再於NBA出賽，轉而前往中國、西班牙及波多黎各打球。

Okafor曾在2015年NBA選秀以探花身份被費城76人選中，新秀賽季場均17.5分和7籃板，但隨後表現下滑，曾短暫效力布魯克林籃網、鵜鶘、活塞。

據報導Okafor雖然不在NBA，但Okafor保持良好體能狀態，溜馬隊管理層對他的夏季訓練印象深刻。目前溜馬有12名球員持有全額保障合約，Okafor將在訓練營中爭取一個正式名額。
