根據馬刺隊記者Jeff Garcia報導，馬刺隊球員Keldon Johnson先前傳出願意轉讓自己背號給Chris Paul，但事情有了反轉，有球迷親自問了Keldon Johnson下個賽季背號的事情，Keldon Johnson回應說自己會繼續穿上三號球衣。
之前在Keldon Johnson的採訪中，他曾表示自己穿3號球衣就是因為Chris Paul，還有他是家中老三。
而Chris Paul則是這一輩子在NBA生涯都是穿三號球衣，無論在黃蜂、快艇、雷霆、火箭、太陽、勇士，馬刺隊的13號球衣James Silas已經被高掛退休，33號則是目前由另外一位Tre Jones穿上。
