根據記者Adrian Wojnarowski消息，自由球員Thaddeus Young將加盟鳳凰城太陽，先前Thaddeus Young遭到暴龍交易到籃網，後續遭籃網裁掉。

本賽季已經是Thaddeus Young的第17個NBA賽季，先前共效力過7支球隊，過去三個球季都在暴龍隊效力，目前Young已經35歲，這個賽季在暴龍上場次數較少，不過還是有5分、3.3籃板、2.2助攻數據。

太陽在交易截止日前交易走四名球員，換回兩名球員，因此球隊上還有兩枚球員空格，先選擇簽下Young來補強前場球員深度，另外一名球員則要看球團認為是否需要補強。
