Joel Embiid今天在面對馬刺的比賽上，一舉轟破70分大關，完成自己生涯的里程碑，也是隊史首度有人得到70分，改寫張伯倫在1968年得到68分的紀錄，賽後也被問到了破紀錄的感想。
Joel Embiid credits his teammates for being unselfish and allowing him to get going the way he did. He said he told his teammates not to force the ball to him in the fourth quarter, and said it was “unfortunate” Danuel House got booed for taking a 3 in the fourth quarter.

他現謝謝隊友無私的奉獻，讓他在今晚得到70分，甚至在第四節告訴隊友不要執意給他球，但為隊友Danuel House感到很不幸，在第四節出手三分，還被全場的球迷噓聲伺候。
賽後接受採訪談到這個紀錄，與MJ並肩成為單場拿下65分、15籃板、5助攻的球員，Embiid卻不敢相信張伯倫沒有完成過這個紀錄，Embiid說：「一般講到這種世界級的紀錄，通常都會提到他的名字，他肯定有在某個時刻其他地方做到過吧。」
