根據記者Shams Charania消息，黃蜂隊決定讓Kai Jones無限期離隊，且沒有歸隊時間表，Jones將以個人理由缺席開季訓練營，球隊依然與Jones保持溝通。

The Charlotte Hornets will have 2021 first-round pick Kai Jones away from the team indefinitely and there’s no timetable for his return, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Jones will miss training camp due to personal reasons, and team remains in constant communication with him.

黃蜂隊總教練先前才被問到此事，他表示已了解Jones的貼文內容，內部也掌握著他的情形。之前Jones就因為有精神恍惚在開直播，被懷疑是吃了什麼東西；另外對於自己實力非常認可，對外宣稱自己比Shaquille O’Neal和LeBron James都還要棒，拒絕收回此言論。
