根據記者Adrian Wojnarowski消息，黃蜂隊與PJ Washington簽下3年4800萬延長合約，留下這位2019年選進球隊的優質前鋒。

PJ Washington從2019年被黃蜂隊在2019年第12順位選進球隊，四年都待在黃蜂隊，上個賽季打出四年中最好的表現，場均貢獻15.7分、4.9籃板、2.4助攻、1.1阻攻。

原本先前傳出合約價碼談不攏的消息，但Washington是受限自由球員，黃蜂隊握有跟進報價的權利，在最後與球隊協議之下，三年續留夏洛特，下賽季將與榜眼新秀Brandon Miller，和上季沒打的Miles Bridges，共組黃蜂鋒線三劍客。
