前天，根據Shams Charania報導指出，湖人、獨行俠、爵士三方達成重磅交易，Luka Doncic與Anthony Davis互換東家，Max Christie轉戰獨行俠，Maxi Kleber、Markieff Morris轉戰湖人，而Jalen Hood-Schifino則被交易至爵士。
ESPN記者Tim Macmahon撰文報導，聯盟各隊的高層對於此交易都既憤怒又嫉妒，因為眾星雲集的洛杉磯湖人是唯一有機會爭取Doncic的球隊。
「難以置信。」一位西區聯盟的高層告訴 ESPN。「我驚呆了。」一位東區聯盟的高層發簡訊說。
