前全明星中鋒DeMarcus Cousins在節目《Run It Back》中質疑洛杉磯湖人選Bronny James的決策，認為這表明球隊不再專注於奪冠。
Cousins指出，湖人選擇Bronny James，或許更重視情感意義，而非球隊競爭力。
Cousins說：「我不認為湖人現在是認真的，Bronny還有很長的路要走才能成為合格的職業球員，湖人選中他可能意味著他們對奪冠的渴望減弱了。」
Cousins還補充說，湖人上賽季的問題並未得到充分解決，但對新秀Dalton Knecht寄予厚望，認為他可以為球隊帶來即刻影響。
