先前曾與比利時奧斯坦德完成簽約的「三冠王」Patrick McCaw(完整報導請看：轉戰歐洲！「三冠王」Patrick McCaw加盟比利時奧斯坦德籃球俱樂部)，近期抵達了比利時卻因為護照問題而無法加盟，甚至還為此被拘留在比利時三天。

McCaw在來到機場後，因為系統將他的證件標記為「丟失」或「遭竊」，因此他被送往斯滕奧克爾澤爾的拘留中心，就此被拘留了三天。

而前比利時經濟部長兼副首相Johan Vande Lanotte甚至為此前往拘留中心探望McCaw，不過現職為律師的Lanotte並未能幫助McCaw脫離拘留的處境。

四天後McCaw被驅逐出境，而他的護照將會在幾個月收到。因此奧斯坦德將再次尋找一名新球員，McCaw也為此需要重新找工作。
